Jaume d'Escriu, al blog de Xesca Ensenyat de l'Hidroavió apagafocs, ha tengut la gentilesa de traduir tot l'article a l'anglès per escampar-ho arreu del món, ja que la censura de l'Himne hauria d'arribar a tot arreu. Aquí la teniu per fer-ne escampadissa: The past 18 November, in opening act of the dome of Miquel Barceló in the Room of the Human Rights of Geneva, the agenda of the day announced The Hymn of the United Nations. The hidden performance of Spain to silence the anthem coincided with the death, almost simultaneously, by the authors. Auden died on 29 September 1973 and Casals, 23 October of that year. Who argue? Auden and Casals not received any gratitude and still suffer unjust censorship. Must be the only known case in history that is killed an hymn commissioned, edited and released. It is clear that the Spanish government must repair, but the UN is responsible for having commissioned the work, be it officially, and then have it buried, censored, muted and banned reaching unmentionable pressures against the authors. The relays at the head of the UN have done that, 37 years after the ignominy, ignored the story. The antics of the former managers have been replaced by pure ignorance of the current. It is not about their having made the big eyes or having daydreamed. November 18 this year, the United Nations in Geneva, nobody went to search the PARTS of the anthem that had been announced and no one admitted the error, but "the singing of birds" was to unmask the evidence. The facts are as described and demand fair redress. If nothing else, the good name of Casals and Auden. El cant dels ocells és una cançó de Nadal que Casals va fer escoltar a tot el món i, avui, és difícil dissociar del violoncel. Així i tot, l'han cantat, en distintes versions, Marina Rossell o Lluís Llach (aquest fent referència al conflicte de Bòsnia). És freqüent escoltar-la a actes de record a víctimes o a homenatges. No obstant, estic amb l'autor de l'article que s'ha de reivindicar l'Himne. És una qüestió de dignitat. Si les Nacions Unides el varen encarregar a Auden i a Casals, ara no es pot permetre que, per raons bones d'endevinar, els haign arraconat. Dit d'una altra manera, no hi ha res subversiu o inasumible per cap potència de l'est o de l'oest de llavors, que segur que ho haguessin llegit com una peça retòrica que no els afectava per res ni en res. La veritat és que no entenc per què han amagat l'himne i no la Declaració dels Drets, que sí que se l'han passat per l'entrecuix la majoria dels països de la terra, començant pel franquisme, membre de NU.
Enhorabona per la denúncia d'una errada o d'una falsetat. Amb tot, un pic llegit el poema d'Auden -que és un dels meus poetes favorits-, no entenc per què l'oculten. Denuncia la falsetat i les mentides dels politics, incita a tots (metafòricament músics i cantants) a anar junts i lluitar per la pau, el significat de la qual és el canvi, i finalment el destí sigui llibertat, Gràcia i Sorpresa.(l'inesperat?, la imaginació?)
Andreu: Estic totalment d'acord en que s'ha de rehabilitar l'himne proscrit. Jo només volia significar que ja que ens quedàvem sense la peça anunciada, l'escollida per substituir-la va ser tot un encert. Imagina-t per un moment que ens hagessin fotut un pasdoble com "suspiros de España". ...
